PSA Spots

I collaborated with the team at VML, Kansas City ad agency, to write music for two engaging PSA’s for First Call, a local organization providing clinical, educational and prevention services to individuals and families impacted by substance use disorders.

Using just the solo piano, the brief was to weave a melody along side the voice over. The voice over starts off upbeat, feel-good, and very commercial sounding. As the piece progresses so does the beat and feel. The music grinds down to almost a slow-motion halt as the PSA reveals what is really behind drug addiction.
